About Kino's Journey
Kino's Journey: the Beautiful World is a Japanese light novel series written by Keiichi Sigsawa and illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The series is published by ASCII Media Works under the imprint Dengeki Bunko. The story follows Kino, a young adventurer and their companion Hermes, a talking motorcycle. They travel and explore a world of many different countries, each with their own people and culture, spending only three days at each place.
As of October 2017, twenty one volumes has been published with releases annually. In April 2017 the series received it's first manga adaptation illustrated by Iruka Shiomiya, published in Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge. A second adaptive manga illustrated by Gou began serialization in ASCII Media Works' Dengenki Daioh as of July 2017.
Kino's Journey has additionally been adapted to numerous short films, released drama CDs and it's illustrator Kouhaku Kuroboshi has released up to three artbooks containing original art from the novel series.
Author Keiichi Sigsawa has additionally penned a spinoff novel of Kino's Journey named Gakuen Kino, a comedic series that borrows its cast from the original light novel.
